1890's Evening Headdresses

Here are some exmples of evening headdresses from the 1890's. Height was very important in these styles.  Hair was dressed on the top of the head, and feathers and jewelled combs added to the illusion of height.  Black was very popular, as were ostrich feathers.  Egret feathers became popular, briefly, at the end of the century.
